If you can answer “YES” to these 3 questions, you can apply for the fully funded G-Max energy storage solution:

Do you have solar panels on your building or are you planning to install them?

Are you an educational institution, social housing provider or residential care organisation?

Do you want to reduce your energy costs and make better use of your solar power?
Yes, it’s completely free. SEG CIC covers the full cost of the battery and installation. We recover the investment through energy trading revenues, not by charging you.
You don’t lease, buy, or finance the battery. SEG CIC owns it, maintains it, and covers any servicing or repair costs. There’s no financial risk to your organisation.
Yes. We understand schools and businesses may take time to reach decisions. You can reserve your interest while your internal approval process takes place.
Your FIT payments continue as normal. The battery does not interfere with your generation income.
Most installations take just a few days. They are carried out by accredited, professional installers. For schools, all installers are DBS-checked.
The Fox ESS G-Max is about the size of a large fridge/freezer. It is usually installed in a secure plant room, energy cupboard, or similar location.
For most schools and businesses, one battery is enough. If your site needs more, we’ll discuss options with you.
No, there isn’t a strict minimum. The G-Max battery is designed to work with a wide range of system sizes. What matters most is whether your site generates enough excess solar electricity to make good use of storage. During our initial assessment, we’ll advise if your system is suitable.
Normally, unused solar power is sent back to the grid. With a battery, you store this extra energy and use it later, making your site more self-sufficient and reducing reliance on the grid.
SEG CIC owns the battery and takes care of all monitoring, servicing, and maintenance. If there’s ever a problem, we fix it at no cost to you.
SEG CIC owns the battery to guarantee community benefit. After 10 years, your organisation also begins receiving a share of the trading income it generates.
“Payback” refers to how quickly SEG CIC recovers its costs through energy trading, not to your organisation. For you, the savings start immediately and you pay nothing.
After year 10, your organisation receives a fair share of the trading income. The exact percentage will be detailed clearly in your agreement with SEG CIC.
All data is handled securely and in line with GDPR. Only energy performance data is used to optimise the battery, no personal data is collected or shared.
Not necessarily. Solar panels do degrade gradually, but most remain productive for 20–25 years or more. The important factor is whether your system is still generating enough energy to benefit from storage. We’ll check this as part of our free compatibility assessment.
